1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential to basic operation — remembering that you are logged in — while others help us understand how the site is used.
2. Necessary cookies
These cannot be switched off; without them login and security do not work.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
jobdee_session | Holds the session token that keeps you logged in. HttpOnly and Secure, so scripts cannot read it. | 30 days | First-party |
jobdee_consent | Remembers your consent choices | 1 year | First-party |
jobdee_anon | A random identifier linking the consent record to this browser. Not tied to your identity. | 1 year | First-party |
jobdee_active_role | Remembers whether you are in client or freelancer mode | 30 days | First-party |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you chose | 1 year | First-party |
3. Analytics cookies
These run only after you press accept. They show which pages get used and where people get stuck.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes users anonymously | 2 years | Google Analytics |
_ga_* | Holds measurement session state | 2 years | Google Analytics |
IP anonymisation is enabled, and we never send email addresses, names or user IDs to analytics.
4. Marketing cookies
We currently use none. The option exists in the banner to cover future use. If we start, we will update this policy, change the version number, and ask for consent again.
5. Nothing loads before consent
5.1 The page loads no analytics script until you make a choice — as opposed to loading it and disabling it afterwards.
5.2 Scrolling, dismissing the banner, or continuing to browse is not consent, as the PDPA requires.
5.3 "Accept all" and "Reject all" are the same size and weight.
6. Consent records
Each time you choose, we record: the choices made, the timestamp, the policy version shown at that moment, a random browser identifier, and the IP address. The law requires us to be able to prove consent, which is why this is kept.
7. Changing your mind
7.1 Open the consent management page at any time — the link is in the footer of every page.
7.2 Withdrawing consent takes exactly one button, the same as giving it.
7.3 You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, though removing the necessary ones will log you out.
8. Third-party cookies
Apart from Google Analytics (only with consent), we embed no social widgets, like buttons or third-party chat that could set their own cookies. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sets none.
9. Questions
